The sound of the boom gates going down at a level crossing. A train arrives, stops at the other station, and departs with a blast from the horn. An announcement goes off in the distance. Then the boom gates go back down and a train, this time on the recorder's platform, arrives. The doors open and the train is boarded. This was recorded in australia.

Here's a recording i did from the third floor balcony of my hotel room in the hyde park area of london. It was a noisy spot, but very atmospheric and ideal for recording street sounds, especially in stereo. Recorded on a tascam dr-40.
Night field-recording of creatures taken at aireys inlet, victoria, australia on wadawarrung country. Recorded on iphone through the merlin id bird app but with no results, so perhaps these are crickets.
In this series of recordings i strike many cook's safety matches, in a small plaster-boarded room. These sounds were recorded with a match pair of rode m5 small diaphragm condenser microphones, into a zoom h4n. These are the raw sound recording with not noise reduction, eq, or compression. These sounds are 100% free for all uses.
Match being lit-up on the side of the matchbox, then flame being blown out at the end. Recorded using the smartphone's voice notes app. The audio was cut and converted from. M4a to. Wav using reaper.
A recording of a match being struck, bursting into flame. Edited and converted to stereo in audacity. Recorded with a samsung j2-pro phone (getting a better recorder soon).
Lazer sound made by running my fingernail along a mouse pad and reversing it, along with some pitch shifts. Recorded using a headset microphoneedited using sony vegas.
Made this awhile ago for a first person shooter, used mouth with a fan in the background trying to emulate a sub machine gun on a budget netbook microphone. May have modified it with audacity. Https://kurtblissz. Itch. Io/retarted-fps-engine.
This is just a stretch of a small fire crackling. There are a few extraneous noises in there (some sniffling, distant car going by, light footsteps, keys, camera noises, and some birds), i just provided the full file so you could edit and use which portions work best for you.
A composite alarmsample. Loop this sample on a huge stereo with decent volume and report back :) the sample is optimized for dynamics, so it's not overcompressed. This sample also contains a firealarm bell which is absent in the other sample in this pack.
I took some matches, burned the whole package at the same time, then i moved it around the mic to get those lo-popping sound and all the hiss. I duplicated it on 4 tracks to get some stereo effect.
A short "fireball" sounding woosh. Originally created for game sfx. A combination of a gas stove lighting and burning, fan hums from several computers, and generated brown noise in audacity, all combined, equalized and shapped with a short fade in and longer fade out.
